Operations & Procedures

Governor Mobile Tactical Command will operate just like an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) where the cities, states and federal agencies through private and public commands can coordinate their activities to meet the objectives during an emergency. We respond to ground zero when the governor who declares a state of Emergency notifies us.

When Governor Mobile Tactical Command is deployed to any disasters and is located at ground zero or at any special functions to include private functions we have 60 different communications commands inside Governor Mobile Tactical Command - Headquarters.

Our supporting EOM is located in Spring City, Tennessee where we can dispatch 911 calls from the communities that are effective with a state of Emergency.

Emergency management or disaster management

The discipline of dealing with and avoiding risks is a discipline that involves preparing, supporting, and rebuilding society when natural or human-made disasters occur.

Emergency management is the continuous process by which all individuals, groups, and communities manage hazards in an effort to avoid or ameliorate the impact of disasters resulting from the hazards. Actions taken depend in part on perceptions of risk of those exposed.

The emergency management relies on thorough integration of emergency plans at all levels of government and non-government involvement. Activities at each level (individual, group, community) affect the other levels. It is common to place the responsibility for governmental emergency management with the institutions for civil defense or within the conventional structure of the emergency services.

In the private sector, emergency management is sometimes referred to as business continuity planning.
